Advantages of Stud
Strength
The strength of the weld is much greater than that of the parent material or even the stud. This means that the welds made during the stud welding process will outlast the entire product, which is beneficial to the product since it won't be faulty where the joints are located.
Cost-efficient
Welding two objects together isn't always cheap, especially with projects that take longer or consist of expensive materials. However, with stud welding, there is fewer maintenance costs involved. Plus, since it does not take long to perform, you can use less-skilled welder hours.
No weld splatter
Some types of welding are notorious for splattering. For instance, welders commonly experience splatter in mig welding, sometimes even in excess. With stud welding, there is not any weld splatter because a ceramic shield covers the arc and weld zone.
Painted or pre-coated items
During stud welding, it is okay if an item is painted or pre-coated. From being practically smokeless to being splatter-less, stud welding is safe and clean in contrast to other welding types. Not to mention, you can do it quickly and on various projects.

Aluminum is malleable, ductile, light, and trivalent with good electrical and thermal conductivity, high reflectivity, and resistance to oxidation.
Brass has good strength, excellent high temperature ductility and reasonable cold ductility, good conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, good bearing properties and low magnetic permeability.
Bronze is a metal composed of copper as the main alloying metal and one or more other metals, such as tin, zinc, or phosphorus.
Copper is a reddish metallic element that is ductile and malleable and is one of the best conductors of heat and electricity. Copper also exhibits good corrosion resistance.
Titanium is hard, light, strong and corrosion-resistant. Titanium studs are used widely in the aerospace industry and in medical applications, such as replacement joints.
Steel studs are made from iron that contains carbon in any amount up to about 1.7 percent as an essential alloying constituent. Many grades of carbon and alloy steel are used as fastener materials. Some grades must be coating to protect studs against corrosion. Others, such as stainless steel studs, are chemical and corrosion resistant, and can have relatively high stress ratings.
Specifications of Stud

Types of Stud
Welded fork stud
Stainless steel rigging hardware welded fork stud is a type of rigging hardware used in applications that require a strong, secure connection between a cable or wire rope and another component.
Eye stud
Stainless steel rigging hardware eye stud is a type of fastener used in rigging systems, particularly for connecting cables, ropes, or other components in applications where secure and adjustable tension is required.

Applications of Stud
Steel structures and building construction: Steel frame construction benefits from stud welding by connecting shear studs to the steel beams and through steel decking sheets.
Automotive body repair and restoration: Auto body shops use stud welding systems to avoid invasive procedures when repairing car body dents. Stud welding one or more pins to the dents makes it easy to pull them out and correct the car body after minor collisions.
Bridge construction: Studs are essential to strengthen and connect shear connectors to the concrete base of bridge elements. In addition, steel plating and similar steel parts of a bridge rely on stud welding to form the full bridge structure. Without studs, bridges wouldn’t be able to have a cohesion of steel and concrete elements, making them indispensable in the bridge industry.
Vehicle frame and chassis construction: Vehicle manufacturing requires a huge number of automated welding operations, which include stud welding. A high-energy arc allows quick fastener fusing with the vehicle frame, allowing seamless attachment of various vehicle components.
Sheet metal fabrication: Stud welding is the best way to join fasteners and other types of studs to sheet metal in large-scale production. Since stud welders produce very short bursts of energy, sheet metal is unlikely to warp or burn through.
Machinery and equipment assembly: Fabricating machinery and equipment often requires numerous fasteners and pins to be applied to thin sheet metal or thick metal plates. Stud welding can be automated for precise and efficient stud joining for almost any configuration.
Installation Requirements of Stud
To face the two-inch side of the studs forward. Don’t place the studs flat with the wider side in front–this isn’t supported. Remember to secure those studs to both the floor and the ceiling. No wobbly business here! To beef up the support a bit if you’re using metal studs, you'll need two extra. Position on the left side of the left stud, and the other on the inside of the right stud.
Raw material inspection & cutting of raw material: The raw material is picked based on the application. We also choose the material to be used and conduct a chemical and physical inspection of the round bar material. The round bar raw material is then selected as per the size, followed by cutting it for the required length. This process is followed in all bolt, nut, and stud manufacturing processes.
Hot-forging process: The hot forging process is applied for bolt and nut manufacturing. During the forging, the bolt head/nut is deformed by induction heating. Then, calculations are made to determine the required length, recrystallize the metal’s temperature, and bend to the required shape and size.
Annealing: In the next step, after forging, the material is annealed for uniformity and eased for machining. All three nut, bolt, and stud manufacturing include this process.
Cleaning & trimming: Surface finishing is the next step in the nut, bolt, and stud manufacturing process. Annealing and cleaning the nuts, bolts, and studs in a shot blasting machine makes the surface smooth and removes any scaling or burr.
Turning process: The next step of bolt nut manufacturing is the turning process. First, the material is machined to the required dimensions, usually done by a cnc machine.
Thread rolling: This is a mechanical process where threads are cold-formed and is done with two dies. One is stationary, and the other is a moving die that actually exerts pressure on the bolts and studs. Tapping is done for nut manufacturing in india.
Heat treatment: Heat treatment is done to make the bolts, nuts, and studs stronger. This process involves hardening materials in a gas carburizing furnace at a temperature of 850-900°c and then quenched in the cooling media. All the process is recorded in data loggers.
Phosphating: Phosphating is a chemical process of treating the surface. Operations are performed to alter the surface of the bolt, nut, or stud.
Re-threading: This simple process of nut bolt manufacturing after the completion of all the procedures.
